Enjoy full access to our friendly, well-equipped pottery studio, including potter’s wheels, with the option to follow a structured 6-week rolling course or work independently on your own projects. Suitable for complete beginners and experienced makers alike, these relaxed, supportive sessions offer a flexible approach—follow the weekly themes to build skills or explore your own ideas at your own pace, with guidance available throughout. 6 Week Course Outline Week 1: Pinch pots & coiling – learn core hand-building techniques Week 2: Slab building – create functional and decorative forms Week 3: Sculpture basics – explore form, structure, and creativity Week 4: Wheel throwing – introduction to centering and shaping Week 5: Wheel throwing & finishing – refine forms and explore decoration, including sgraffito, paper cut techniques & slips Week 6: Underglazes & glazing – bring your work to life with colour and finish Join at any point in the cycle and revisit techniques as often as you like. How it Works You can complete a piece in one session, including decorating with coloured slips, or leave it unpainted for a simple clear glaze finish. If you’d prefer more time, we can carefully store your work for up to 6 months, allowing you to return and develop it further. Work can be bisque fired during this period, ready for you to glaze using our range of underglazes and glazes. You’re also welcome to bring your own materials and ideas. We use earthenware clay and fire all work to 1100°C, producing durable, vibrant results. Materials Each session includes up to 4kg of clay, giving you plenty of scope to experiment. Additional clay is available at £5 per kg.
