Pottery Wheel Session

Service Description

This class involves you having your own potters wheel to practice on for 2 hours. This is a great session for people who wish to hone their skills on the wheel. For the 2 hours you are welcome to use as much clay as you like to practice with. Included in the price of the class you will get to keep 4kg of finished pots per person, along with all glazing and firing. If you’d like to create even more, you’re very welcome to! Any additional clay is charged at £5 per extra kg, which covers the full process from making to glazing and firing. You have the option to complete your piece in a single session. This includes decorating it using coloured slips, if you wish. If you prefer a more natural look, you can leave your piece unpainted—we will finish it with a clear glaze, resulting in a smooth, shiny, cream-coloured surface. Painted pieces will be beautifully vibrant with a glossy finish after firing. For those who would like to take more time, we offer the option to return and continue working on your pottery across multiple sessions. We can carefully wrap and store your work in a damp environment for up to 6 months, allowing you to develop your pieces at your own pace. If you choose, your work can be bisque fired during this storage period. You can then come back to glaze your pieces using our selection of underglazes and glazes. You’re also welcome to bring and use your own materials in the studio. We use earthenware clay and fire all work to 1100°C.
